MY ARTISTIC JOURNEY

As a child, Duemler was always creating and making things.  As a teenager, her fascination of art was cemented when she viewed a Monet exhibit.  It was then, she decided she wanted to add art into her life.  After working in other professions and raising a young family, they found a way for Duemler to pursue her artistic dreams.  Duemler completed a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in art from the University of Wisconsin – Madison studying with Carol Pylant and David Becker.   After graduation, she furthered her education by studying with Carolyn Anderson, Scott Christensen, Daniel Gerhartz, Matt Smith, and Skip Whitcomb. She admires the works of American artists Edward Hopper and Fairfield Porter, and Dutch painter, Jan Vermeer.

Duemler has served as an art juror, and served on numerous committees dedicated to the arts, both locally and regionally.  She has taught art locally, as well as statewide which included many artist in residence in Southern Wisconsin schools. She assisted and helped expand the arts education programming at an area Art Center.  She has taught 19 years, teaching painting and drawing, at a community college.  Duemler enjoys painting and teaching workshops in Colorado.

Duemler has won local, regional and state awards for painting and has recently been exhibiting in juried shows in the Midwest.  Duemler’s work is included in private and corporate collection in the US.  She has also exhibited in Colorado.
